Welcome to my website.
I’m Martine Coelmont, and this is my professional career in a nutshell:
After achieving my bachelor’s degree in Communication Management with a major in Branding and Advertising, I completed my Interior Design studies in 2006. In my final year I spent one semester abroad, studying at Politecnico di Milano. I returned to Milan for an editorial internship at Designboom, the world’s first digital architecture and design magazine. That educational experience provided the perfect opportunity to explore all areas of design.
Back in Belgium, my career as an all-round creative took off, working in creative teams and on a freelance base, for local design studios as well as international companies. In the home textile business – where I designed for international high-end home textile brands and later for more commercial retailers – I was immersed in the world of colours, patterns, trend research, collection development and valuable technical know-how.
I chose to specialise in collection development and pattern design, and trained to develop colour strategies for brands and product lines, in sectors ranging from building materials, fashion and toys to FMCG. For each project, I loved taking up creative challenges, but also immersing myself in the preparatory market and trend research. That has lead me to NY-based trend agency Fashion Snoops’ Pattern & Graphics department. I’m currently contributing to their seasonal trend reports.

Martine is a very talented and creative designer that quickly understands the design brief of a project and the needs of a company; she builds the perfect bridge between innovative design and commercial needs. I was very happy with the results of the project ‘decorative patterns’ for glass, she delivered for AGC Mirodan Ind. Martine is very dedicated to the projects she starts, so you can be sure you will get results when you work with her.

During the time we worked together Martine impressed me with her style, professionalism and creativity. She has an eye for detail, is very loyal, discrete and patient. Her ‘get it done’ mentality and the fact that she always comes with a perfect result without making a fuss makes her a great asset to any company or team.
